On Mascots

On Mascots

I really wish that people would "sell me" better on their mascot costumes. If your costume is a "Bee", don't make it for a 6 foot, or even 5 foot tall person. Make it for a midget - isn't that a closer approximation of a bee anyways? I'd really appreciate that extra effort, and I'm sure there's others out there like me...

That might promote discrimination - of the tall in your example.

Riure

That's another good idea: Promote more discrimination.

You guys are right! I've been all turned about on my tolerance of the tall!

Down with the tall! Up with the short!

But not too far up. That would be against everything I stand for.

Bob

For all us tall people out there, we'll currently be selling tall dwarf outfits for anyone wishing to try and fit in with the new bearskinrug crowd.

Available from your local Ronald McDonald dealer.

While I can see where Kevin is coming from on this vital, vital issue, allow me to suggest a different perspective.

Athletics is really a parade of champions, a ritualistic celebration of the strongest and fastest among us. As such, it seems natural that our mascots be monumental in nature. A six foot bee is simply a champion bee, an unusually powerful and tall bee.

Just a thought.

I agree. Like at subservientchicken.com. I mean, what's up with that anyways; I lost interest after 2 minutes.

P.S. Any news on the 24-hour comic?

Good point, Eric. When you put it that way, I've been misinterpreting these powerful symbols. From now on, I shall fear mascots!

Well, Not Important, the full story on the 24 hour comic is still pending. We should have the .pdf of the comic together in a couple of days. So the post is imminent!
